Virtual Sketch Comedy Writing - Level 1 with Laugh Out Loud

Learn the skills to start turning your comedic ideas into comedic sketches. No experience necessary! Each 2-hour class will explore a different approach to comedic writing through a series of class exercises, readings, and at-home writing assignments. Requirements: No experience necessary! (Students must be 18 or older to register) This is an online class and students will need a computer or mobile device (smartphone or tablet) with an internet connection. Classes are taught using the web software Zoom (it is a free app to download). Before your first class, you will receive an email with your Zoom login information and additional instructions.

A continuation of Introduction to Sketch Comedy Writing, this class will introduce new approaches to comedic sketches and build upon topics covered in the previous class. Virtual Improv Workshop: Gibberish Scenes with Laugh Out Loud

We will have you speaking gibberish like it was your first language! Many short-form improv games utilize gibberish for both comedic value and adding information without using words. This two-week workshop will focus on the skills to create compelling gibberish that will amaze your audience and support your scenework. Requirements: Participants should have taken improv classes in the past and are familiar with short-form improv games that utilize gibberish. This is an online class and students will need a computer or mobile device (smartphone or tablet) with an internet connection.
